It Probably Won’t Be 39 Years
I’ve written here previously about a murderer who shot his buddy to death for $7,000 USD while they were on their way home from a casino. The perp was sentenced today, and he got 39 years to life.
If he behaves himself, the convict won’t have to serve the entire 39 years. It has been my experience that the most you can reasonably expect is about one-third to one-half of the lower number. He’ll probably find religion in an attempt to convince the parole board to go easy on him. Cynical but true.
Of course, if he acts like a real jerk while inside, then he’ll probably take up residence at the Grey Bar Hotel until he shuffles off this mortal coil. Cold comfort for the family and loved ones of the victim, but the best that can be offered.

Unbelievable that such a premeditated, vicious crime would engender such a light sentence.

The convict is currently 48 years old generally in Ohio a person has to serve at least half of their sentence before being eligible for parole or judicial release. So that is 19 years minimum age for him when could be released is 67. However that means he has to back before the same judge that handed down the sentence so if by some chance in 19 years the same judge is still on the bench he probably wont have a chance of getting released. Judging from these facts I doubt he will ever breath free air again unless granted clemency by the Governor probably then only in an extreme circumstance like the con is terminally ill and not likely to ever regain consciousness etc….

“I doubt he will ever breath free air again…”
I certainly hope so! If he can kill his bosom buddy for a few grand, goodness knows what he would do to someone he was really mad at.
