Full Auto Or Nothing
Speaking of Murdoc (see below), I found a post on his other blog to be interesting.
News reports relate the tale of how a trio of wannabee terrorists went to great lengths to strike a blow against the Great Satan. They tried to join terrorist groups in three Middle East countries, and then started to lay plans to make some mischief on their own. One of the plans was to go out in a blaze of glory, shooting down innocent people in a shopping mall.
What foiled the plan? It seems that they were not able to acquire full auto weapons. If they couldn’t spray-and-pray, then they just didn’t want to play.
(Click on the pic above to see the animation.)
Murdoc points out that this seems to go against the accepted narrative, that military grade weapons are just lying around for the taking in any US gin shop. Don’t expect anyone to change their tune, though.

I am baffled as to why more insanity hasn’t erupted in our great country. It would be so easy to explode a bomb (a la Oklahoma City) or bring a gun with a boatload of ammo to a mall or sports stadium (a la the North Hollywood bank robbery). Automatic weapons can be had, you just need ca$h and the right gang connection.
Any run of the mill terrorist could easily take a bunch of us satans along with them on their blaze to the 72 virgins. Or is it one 72 year old virgin? I always get that mixed up.
Seriously, I have no real clue, but I suspect that the stepped up law enforcement since 911 has really made a dent in the terrorist population.

Dan, the reason is because we don’t have a terrorism problem in this country. Look at Israel, where you have to fear for your life going to a discotheque or a shopping center. Israel has a terrorism problem! We have one or two nuts every few years, and they usually aren’t competent enough to succeed.
I suspect, based on past cases, that the fellows discussed in the article above had been infiltrated by law enforcement long before they were arrested. After all, it seems that they did little more than sit around and make elaborate plans.

Well, of course they are!

Your average non-citizen resident hasn’t a clue about how to get firearms in the US … folks like that jihadi in Bly Oregon are the exception, not the rule.
